Senior System Design Engineer (Fremont, California)Essential Job Functions Candidate will participate in defining new products, writing system specifications and architecting a system solution that will meet customer specs. Candidate will be required to validate the architecture through simulation and work with the design team to develop IC level specifications. The candidate will also be responsible for demonstrating that the final power supply solution meets all target application specification. The candidate is required to be familiar in the majority of the following areas: switching power supply, control theory, analog circuit design. Senior System Design Engineer (Fremont, California)Essential Job Functions Architect and design high-performance isolated and non-isolated switched mode power supplies for power management Integrated Circuits (ICs), including system board design, experimental system verification, proposal of control strategy, and support of new microchip design. Duties will include defining system level architecture for new power supply platforms; developing system and IC level specifications; performing power supply topology analysis and selection, control algorithm selection, simulation, and implementation, as well as magnetic component definition and design; creating technical documentation and providing technical guidance to customers; supervising system board layout; and utilizing knowledge of power electronics and magnetic design, control theory and its application to switching power supplies, and analog and digital circuit design practices to perform the duties above. Education/Experience M.Sc. degree (or equivalent) in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related field, and experience or knowledge of control theory as applied to DC-DC converter topologies and advanced converter modeling; power electronics and magnetics design; simulation skills for switching circuits using simulation software; and analog and digital circuit design practices, including VRM performance and industry standard test methods for power supply characterization. Senior Thermal Engineer (Fremont, CA)Essential Job Functions Setting up, running and analyzing thermal models at chip, board and system level. Setting up, running, and analyzing thermal/mechanical stress models of device/package at package level, and board level.
