Director of Package Engineering (Fremont, CA)

Description:

  • Develop, validate, and document processes to transition new/derivative package technologies into high-volume manufacturing.
  • Work with wafer-level bump and package assembly subcontractors to define and document POR and BOM.
  • Participate in package development projects and conduct evaluations and qualifications that comprehend field reliability and customer use conditions.
  • Set priorities for the worldwide package engineering resources to effectively qualify and deploy package technologies.
  • Establish strong working relationships with suppliers and subcontractors; drive cost effective solutions, assembly and package yield improvements, and identification of proactive systems that prevent disruptions and incidents.
  • Work with customers to ensure board-level design rules are established and documented for all package technologies.

Position resides in Fremont, but frequent travel is required.

Experience/Skills:
  • 10+ years hands-on experience working on semiconductor packaging, specifically in wafer-level CSP and flip chip QFN technologies.
  • Strong background developing materials and manufacturing practices used for semiconductor products.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of solder materials, metallurgy and reflow technology, including Pb free options.
  • Experience in root cause analysis of material and package-related failures.
  • Understanding of Mil-Std, JEDEC, and IPC specifications for package manufacturing practices, component qualification, and reliability testing.
  • Ability to successful lead cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Formal DOE, FMEA, and statistics training with a working knowledge of NPI and PM practices.
  • Strong technical writing and oral communication skills.
Education:
  • Ideal candidate should have an MS in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, or EE.

IT Manager (Fremont, CA)

This position will report to the Director of IT/HR and will be responsible for managing all aspects of Volterra's information technology. This includes Windows Servers, Linux servers, Windows desktops, data backups, telephone system, security system, and more. The successful candidate has a strong Windows and UNIX system administration background, has strong diagnostic skills, and is flexible enough to handle a wide variety of responsibilities. Your team of 4 will work with users to diagnose and resolve problems, plan, procure, and install all equipment and software, and work with external providers of telephone, security, and networking equipment and services. Team consists of Windows/telecomm admin, UNIX/CAD admin, software developer, and business analyst.

Senior Financial Analyst (Fremont, CA)

The Sr. Financial Analyst reports to the manger of FP&A. The analyst will provide forecasting, financial modeling and business analysis and reporting. This position will involve developing strong business partnering relationships with various management levels including VPs. This is a high visibility position and requires a person who can deliver high value analysis and performance reports that make a significant impact in the business decisions of the Company.

  • Build and maintain financial forecasting and planning models.
